A fun read

over at the Reykjavík Grapevine.

Undoubtedly everyone in the world wants to visit and immigrate to the US. Other countries are just not worth living in. Something along these lines must have been the rationale of the US border control officer in this recent case. I’ll take exception from that obvious rule as I have no intention to go to the US voluntarily during my lifetime. In general I try to avoid to go to countries that have the death penalty, such as the Iran, Pakistan or the US, but the fact that the US is treating visitors like criminals upon entering their country doesn’t really give them any bonus points in these matters.

From what I’ve heard from an US-born who does quite a bit of traveling, the treatment of citizens isn’t much better and can be downright degrading.

    Hi Corrine 🙂

Yeah, I read about the “enhanced pat downs” of the TSA over at Ars Technica. And there was some case of a guy who refused to have it and filmed that.

My hope is that the worse it gets the more pressure will the US citizens put on politicians. If the US is still a democracy that should be the way to change things.
